Abe Segura

Abe Segura, MD is an Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I). Dr. Segura conducts health services research at the intersection of augmented intelligence and behavioral economics to improve diagnostic pathways and population health outcomes among young adults. Current projects focus on studying the effectiveness of existing healthcare delivery interventions designed to increase colorectal cancer screening in young adults and developing a clinical decision support system that optimizes healthcare utilization in young adults with rectal bleeding.

Dr. Segura received his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Rice University, a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition at Columbia University, and his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowship in gastroenterology from the University of Pennsylvania.
