Roy Schwartz is Vice President, Managed Care at Penn Medicine.  His responsibilities include development and implementation of insurance, managed care and related market strategies.  Roy has oversight of three teams of contract negotiators and other professionals in the Lancaster, Princeton, and Greater Philadelphia markets.  These teams are directly accountable for negotiating the contracts, as well as managing the relationships, partnerships, disputes, and business development opportunities with our health plan partners on behalf of all Penn Medicine hospitals, physicians, and ancillary providers.

Prior to joining Penn Medicine in 2002 as Director of Managed Care, Roy was Director of Managed Care for Temple University Health System.  Throughout the 1990s, Roy held various healthcare contracting and analysis positions at the Massachusetts Division of Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and Partners HealthCare in Boston.

Roy has an MBA from Boston University and a BA from Brandeis University.
