Kate Courtright, MD, MSHP is an Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I), Assistant Professor of Medicine and core faculty member at the Palliative and Advanced Illness Research (PAIR) Center at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Courtright’s research strives to rigorously develop and evaluate in large pragmatic clinical trials the real-world effectiveness and equity of systematic clinician nudges to increase evidence-based palliative care delivery for individuals with serious illness.

After graduating from the Temple University School of Medicine, Dr. Courtright completed a residency and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She completed fellowships in Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine and earned a master’s degree in health policy research at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Courtright currently serves as a medical intensivist and palliative care consultant at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
