Efrat Dotan

Efrat Dotan, MD is an Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I) and Executive Medical Director of the Ann B Barshinger Cancer Institute at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. She also serves as Chair of the Older Adult Oncology Guidelines Panel for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), Chair of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG-ACRIN) Geriatric Oncology Working Group, and Co-Chair of the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Pancreatic Cancer Task Force. Prior to joining Penn, Dr. Dotan served as the Chief of the Division of Gastrointestinal medical Oncology and Professor in the Department of Hematology/Oncology at Temple Health’s Fox Chase Cancer Center.

Dr. Dotan’s work focuses on developing novel treatment approaches for older adults with gastrointestinal cancers using various anti-cancer therapies. Her goal is to provide each patient with cutting-edge cancer therapy supplemented with supportive care focused on age related factors along with factors related to the cancer. She completed an Internal Medicine residency at Lenox Hospital in New York City and a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Additionally, she holds a Master of Translational Research degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a board certification in Medical Oncology.
