Deborah Rose, MBA

Chief Operating Officer, Surgery, Perelman School of Medicine

Deborah Rose, MBA is the Chief Operating Officer of the University of Pennsylvania’s Department of Surgery. She has over 35 years of experience in academic surgery, holding positions as a research scientist, research administrator, Director of Clinical Research Administration, Director of Professional Medical Education and Chief Operating Officer.

 

As a research scientist, Deborah managed a translational research program studying the transplantation of autologous endothelial cells onto synthetic vascular grafts. She is the co-inventor on two patents related to endothelial cell deposition devices.

 

Deborah joined Penn Surgery in 2002 serving as the Director of Clinical Research Administration. She was named COO in 2009.

 

Deborah received her MBA with a concentration in Finance from LaSalle University. She has a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Penn State University.
