Ramy Sedhom Receives 2026 Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Early Career Physician Award

PC3I Program Director Ramy Sedhom, MD has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Early Career Physician Award, which recognizes physicians committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care for individuals nearing the end of life. Each Early Career Physician Award provides $15,000 to physicians within their first decade of practice who demonstrate excellence in palliative care.
Across Penn Medicine, Dr. Sedhom leads initiatives designed to advance patient-centered models of cancer care, including programs focused on palliative care integration, geriatric oncology, psychosocial oncology, and innovative approaches to improving supportive care delivery in community oncology settings.
In 2023, Dr. Sedhom helped establish the Geriatric Oncology Program at Penn Medicine Princeton, which has since been recognized by the Association of Community Cancer Centers as one of the nation’s most impactful models for advancing equity, quality, and value in older adult cancer care.
Dr. Sedhom is the Director of the Program in Geriatric Oncology & Supportive Care Innovation and the Co-Director of the Center for Cancer & Aging at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation. Additionally, he serves as the Section Chief of Medical Oncology and Palliative Care at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center and as chair of the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s (ASCO) Supportive Care in Cancer Committee.
The Hastings Center for Bioethics and the Cunniff-Dixon Foundation co-sponsor these awards with the goal of enriching patient-clinician relations in end-of-life care through education, collaboration, and recognition. Read more about the awards and the other recipients.
