Dr. Handley is a health services researcher and implementation scientist focused on developing care delivery models that can improve access, reduce cost, and enhance patient experience while providing effective care for patients with cancer. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at University of California-San Francisco, where he participated in the Health Systems and Leadership pathway, a program that provides experience in both systems improvement research and current health policy while enabling the development of a framework for approaches to both leadership and implementation. He subsequently completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology at the University of Pennsylvania. While a fellow, he completed an MBA at The Wharton School, with a major in Health Care Management, in order to learn effective strategies for implementing care delivery innovations within large healthcare organizations. His current projects relate to telemedicine, integration of digital health tools, understanding patient-level barriers to seeking care, and delivering care in the home setting.
