Matty Triplette, MD, MPH is a Visiting Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I) an Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center and the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Triplette is a practicing pulmonologist and the Medical Director for the University of Washington/Fred Hutch integrated lung cancer screening program and tobacco treatment program. Dr. Triplette is also the Co-Lead for the Community Engagement Core for the University of Washington Institute for Translational Health Sciences (ITHS).
Dr. Triplette’s research program is focused on primary and secondary lung cancer prevention strategies, integrating methods spanning epidemiology, health services research and implementation science improve clinical care practices and delivery for tobacco cessation and lung cancer screening. They have a particular interest in using community engaged research to partner in the co-design, adaptation and evaluation of multi-level lung cancer prevention strategies in high-risk community settings.
Dr. Triplette completed their undergraduate degree in Anthropology at Wake Forest University, and an MD and MPH from University of North Carolina. They completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Washington.
