Bert W. O’Malley Jr., M.D. is Chair, Department of Otorhinolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery and the Gabriel Tucker Professor of Otorhinolaryngology -Head and Neck Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine, Vice President, University of Pennsylvania Health System, and Physician Executive, Penn Specialty Practices, at Penn Medicine.

 

Dr. O’Malley has served as PI on three NIH RO1s and an R29 (FIRST) award as well as numerous industry and foundation grants. He is pioneering the use of molecular therapies to enhance the anti-tumor effects of chemotherapy and radiation while reducing the known toxicities of these treatments. In addition, he is investigating novel combinations of stem cells and biomatrices for tissue defect reconstruction. He has been the Co-PI of the NIH-funded Penn Multidisciplinary Consortium: Personalized Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Tissue Regeneration.
