Alexandria Muench, PsyD, is an Innovation Faculty member at the Penn Center for Cancer Care Innovation (PC3I), Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine, and a Staff Psychologist at Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH). She has extensive training and specialization within health psychology, specifically in Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Psychosocial Oncology, and Consultation-Liaison Psychology. She works closely with multidisciplinary teams and provides clinical services across oncology, consultation-liaison, GI, and sleep medicine, and supervises predoctoral psychology trainees on each of these rotations.
Dr. Muench’s research focuses on the assessment and treatment of insomnia and cancer-related fatigue in patients with cancer and cancer survivors. More recently, her work has expanded to include the implementation of psychosocial and behavioral interventions in oncology settings. She currently serves as PI on an NCI-funded P50 pilot study and Co-I on a PCORI-funded trial, previously held an NCI R21, and is a two-time recipient of the NIH Loan Repayment Program award for her research on insomnia and fatigue in breast cancer survivors. Her scholarship
spans sleep medicine and oncology.
Dr. Muench graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 2019 and completed a T32 Fellowship in Sleep, Circadian, and Sleep Disorders within the Circadian and Sleep Institute at Penn. She holds Psychology licensure in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, and is PsyPACT credentialed.
